Mechanical Joint

* Clean the bell recess and plain end using soapy water or approved lubricant
* Insert plain end into the socket while pressing the gasket firmly and evenly into gasket recess
* Push the gland toward the socket and center it around the plain end with the gland lip against gasket
* Tighten the bolt to the normal range of bolt torque
